September 2016

Mattis had a week off week to work on Jingo and make progress on our list of jobs to do before April 2017. On 1st September, Jingo was lifted out of the water for the winter months. Once out of the water, we scraped off all the barnacles from the hull. During September we tried to get our 1979 depth sounder to work, but without success. We hoped to get it working so that we could use as much of Jingo's original equipment as possible. Our mast was pulled and we detached our old standing rigging in preparation for our new standing rigging. 17th September was the start of the Southampton Boat Show and we bought a 50 watt solar panel with controller, an EPIRB and heavy weather sailing gear.
